Big Holiday party this year, need an idea for presents for all of my relatives?
This year we are having a huge family get together on Christmas day. I know the families are all buying gifts for everyone. We have a new baby at home and just don't have the money to buy everyone presents. What could we get that is inexpensive that we can give to each family that they will appreciate?

- Why don't you make them all a scrapbook.
- get every one a hat and gloves. maybe even get them socks. oh and get them each girl: a bracelet boy: idk. u gotta think of sumtin fer boys and if there are any kids Marshmallow gun Snowboard Skate board Skate board gear DVDs Some money! Hats Really soft big stuffed animal (walmart) Ipod Webkinz Nintendo DS Nintendogs Sunglasses Candy Cell phone Key chain Pretty socks Dream life Earrings
- Bring a camera to the party, take photos, and upload to a photo site. 2 thing - make tons of baked goodies and bring plates of them to each family unit. Pictures are awesome memories.
- The "Cookie in a jar" I aways think those are soo cute! And who doesn't love cookies! It should be pretty cheep to make a bunch in bulk. Chocolate Chip 2 1/2 cups all purpose unbleached flour 3/4 cup white sugar 3/4 cup packed brown sugar 1/2 tsp. baking soda 1 cup chocolate chips Instructions: 1. Combine flour and baking soda - stir well. Place flour mixture in a clean mason jar. Pack down tight so everything will fit in the jar. (Use a spoon or a mallet.) Add white sugar and pack down, then add brown sugar and pack down. Finally, add chocolate chips. 2. Put the lid on the jar and tie a ribbon around the lid. You can add a personalized label, if you wish. As an added touch, tie a wooden spoon to the lid with a piece of ribbon. 3. Print out the following instructions on a gift card and tape the card to the jar: Whip 1 cup of butter until light and fluffy. Add 2 eggs and 1 tsp. vanilla and beat until mixed. Stir in the ingredients from this jar until well combined. Drop 1 Tbsps of dough on a greased cookie sheet. Bake for 8 to 10 minutes at 350 degrees F. Share with a friend. Hope this helps! Good Luck!
- GO TO ( WWW.PHOTO-TRAN.COM) THEY HAVE EVERYTHING YOU NEED.
- write, find a meaningful poem, and put copies in cute picture frames!(if you have older kids, have them decorate cardboard frames.)
- How about baked gifts? Bake different kinds of brownies and cookies. Hand them out in gift bags. If you aren't into baking and maybe don't have the time with a new baby and all, maybe a scented holiday candle for everyone (under $10). Maybe a magazine (pick one for each member based on their interests and one they don't have already, so many out there). Maybe a funny book. (photos and captions)
- A nice framed family photo with the baby! Most of them should understand that you aren't in a possition to do more. Suggest that the next time you do this that everyone draw names for those over 16 and you'll only have to get one present (spouses are ususally not allowed to draw one another). Then you can get each child one small gift, and the one you drew and your spouse, less money spent, more quality, we all have too much junk anyway! Have a Merry Christmas.
- There's a lovely game you can play when you have a situation like this. Everyone brings a small gift - say £5-£10 ($10-$20). They put a tag on the gift just saying who it is from and try to wrap it in such a way as you can't tell what it is. Then you put all the gifts in the middle. Then, you write down everyone's name on small pieces of paper and put them all in a hat. You then draw out one name at a time. The first person chooses a gift they like the look of, and opens it. Then the next person. BUT... and here's the twist, if they like the look of the other persons gift, they can switch gifts! Then the next person opens their gift, and they can switch with either person... and so on and so forth. It's great fun, and you don't know what you're going to end up with. Of course, you have to get everyone to agree to it, but it can be a good way to avoid a major expense for everyone, and it can mean you avoid getting 20 useless presents! Alternatively, you could just explain to everyone that you've just had a baby and can't afford to buy gifts, so maybe they shouldn't buy you one!
- That's incredibly expensive.. wouldn't it be better to do a gift name draw so nicer gifts can be bought? You can always do personalized ornaments for every family member.. maybe with a picture of what they like, example, sports team, hunting, mother with child, etc. It would be special and unique for each person. I saw a lot of personalized gift items on http://www.amazon.com so maybe try there. Best wishes and Happy Holidays!
