Have you ever wondered about Christmas where Christ has never been part of? April 25th,2008?
Have you ever wondered about Christmas? From the time you first found out there really was no Santa Claus, did you ever question other aspects of this incredible holiday – one that so much of the world takes for granted? Did you ever wonder where Christmas came from? Is it in the Bible? From where do all the unusual symbols surrounding the celebration of this day come? Why a Christmas tree? Where did the idea of Santa Claus originate? Why does Santa wear a red suit with fur? Why does he supposedly come down the chimney? Why are stockings left on the fireplace? Why is this day celebrated on the 25th of December? Where did the Christmas wreath come from, or the Yule log? How about the exchanging of gifts? What about mistletoe? What do all these symbols and festivities really mean? What does the Bible say about this holiday? And what is God’s perspective on these things? rom our earliest childhood, most of us looked forward to Christmas more than any other holiday. We were given time off from school. Stores were decorated and downtown city streets were brightly lit. Additionally, many neighborhood homes would put up lights and other decorations. For weeks, we would anticipate and fantasize about all the presents we would receive. Then the whole family would go out looking for just the right tree. Once found, it was brought home and showered with tinsel, balls, and lights. The family would work together to decorate the tree to everyone’s delight. Then, as the great day arrived, we hung our stockings up and went to bed, hardly able to sleep because of our excitement about what the morning would bring. When morning came, we would run to the tree, and there we would kneel down before it and receive our gifts according to whether we had been "bad" or "good." why do we celebrate the birth of Christ and he never said anything about people celebrating his birth or decorating Christmas trees.

- Christmas is stolen from the pagan celebration of Winter Solstice. Everything else is added on. All of this can be found on Google. The Bible says nothing about this holiday, because it's not Biblical.
- Pagan worship practice incorporated into the catholic church thats what started it all. Easter bunny - fertility Halloween- ancestor worship true believers in Christ do not teach their children these wicked ways.
- truthfully because christmas time is a pagan holiday, and christianity wanted to get rid of pagans and paganisim so the replaced all their holidays and made them into christian ones thats why christmas is now celebrated as the birth of christ he wasnt even actually born on that day or even near that time, supposedly you will notice that most christian holidays fall on days of pagan celebrations the wreath is a symbol of good health and nature pagan symbol the tree is a symbol of life pagan symbol the baubles are a symbol for the 'evil eye' that was believed in and its said you can always see it coming if you have the baubles to reflect it pagan symbol the rest all also age old traditions, mostly pagan, santa wears red because coka cola made him that way when they re invented his idea to use to sell coke incidentaly easter,is pagan too, celebrates spring, fertility and birth and life halloween is to make fun of pagans and their beliefs about the dead that they believed they could communicate with on this day the christian devil is a pagan god
- The Romans embraced Christianity when Constantines wife became Christian abt 325AD....in order to make it attractive to nonbelievers, , Pagan rituals and Christianity were combined...that was the start of the Catholic Church.
- origionally, most of these things had christian origins. the tree, an evergreen, was the sigh of eternal life, because it is one of the few trees that does not "die" in the winter. santa clause was once a saint- saint nicholas- who is the patron saint of children, and his feast day is very close to christmas day. the exchanging of gifts comes from the gold, Frankincense and myrrh that was brought to Jesus by the three wise men. in some countries, children wait until Epiphany ( the day when we celebrate the three kings finding baby Jesus) to open their presents. it's all just been so... twisted. it's hardly recognizable any more.
- First of all, I think people think God is way too strict. You honestly believe He is angry because Christians took pagan practices and applied them to Christmas? I've heard many people say that Christmas is a Merchant's holiday, and they're right to an extent. Because we face way too much pressure to buy gifts. And it's no doubt we tend too forget the reason for the season. And it is true that we aren't instructed to celebrate the birth of Christ in the bible. However, asides for the fact that we sometimes forget the reason for the season(Jesus' birth), I dont think God takes offense to us celebrating Christmas. Christmas customs are things that have derived over time, originating from biblical events. Like the reason we buy each other gifts, is because the Wise men brought Jesus gifts. That's also why people get gifts on the birthdays. And if you search the meaning of alot of the festivities, you will find were they stem from either biblical events, or some type of Christmas occurrence that became tradition over the years.
- I loved xmas until a couple of years ago my husband looked into what it all means and over the couple of years the tree went the following the decorations and this year nothing no target toy sale no big fat roast dinner or mince pies, we didn't celebrate Easter at all. At first I didn't want to believe it was pagan but now I can see the truth I want nothing to do with it at least I wont go broke this year.
